Forging bonds

We provide welding services including highly skilled, manual MIG and TIG welding for an extensive range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Our highly experienced weld team specialise in the welding of low to medium gauge material and are trained to a very high standard. We manufacture components and welded assemblies of various sizes, materials and levels of complexity.

We deliver high-quality precision metal fabrications for a range of industries and applications where quality and tolerance control are critical. Our extensive welding services operate 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week which allows us to deliver a complete subcontract precision fabrication service.

To complement our exceptional welding services, KMF offers multiple metal finishing services, including linishing processes such as grinding, sanding and polishing of metal parts to the highest quality. Welded fabrications can be dressed to their original grained appearance or given additional finishing application such as powder coatings.

Welding services you can rely on

Our welding service is a hugely important part of our sheet metal fabrication operations.

Highly trained workforce specialised in welding

Our industrial workforce is highly skilled and fully trained in all welding techniques. Our engineers are highly qualified and superbly equipped to weld all ferrous and non-ferrous materials in dedicated bays with full MIG and TIG facilities. Welders at KMF have the substantial experience needed to carry out welding on all types of metal, from speciality stainless steels to many heat-resistant materials.

At the forefront of welding technology

KMF not only invests in the training of skilled welders but is also continually investing in equipment and technology to stay at the forefront of industrial welding in the UK. KMF uses overhead heavyweight cranes, extraction units and a specialist finishing station.

Welding services to the highest standards

KMF works closely with clients, contractors and advisors to develop and improve the performance of its operations. This cooperation helps us to meet the increasing demand for the highest quality and enhanced productivity. Our dedicated fully enclosed linishing department gives KMF Precision Sheet Metal the ideal environment for the finishing of metal components to the most demanding standards.

More on welding capabilities

FAQS

Metal inert gas (MIG) welding uses electricity to melt and join two pieces of metal together. An electrical arc is created between a consumable electrode wire (the anode) and the metal that’s being welded (the cathode). This electrical arc melts the electrode wire which creates the weld. At the same time, an inert shielding gas (typically argon) is fed along the same supply line as the electrode wire to the welding tool. The gas protects the weld from oxidising and weakening the weld. When the heat is removed, the new weld cools, solidifies and forms a new piece of fused metal.
