KMF Precision Engineering achieves AS9100 Aerospace standard
We're proud to have completed the last stage of the challenging Aerospace and Defence quality standard AS9100.
KMF Precision Sheet Metal has held this accreditation since 2013, so now Precision Engineering has followed in its footsteps meaning the entire KMF Group is able to prove its commitment to the highest possible quality standards.
AS9100 is the internationally recognised Quality Management System standard, specific to the aerospace, aviation and defence industries. This standard is strongly supported and adhered to by major aerospace OEMs and is being required by vendors within the supply chain on an increasing basis. The aim is to improve the product quality, on-time delivery, more efficient labour utilisation and increase customer satisfaction in supplier customer relationships.
This accreditation gives KMF Precision Engineering the approval to supply CNC turned and machined components to top-tier manufacturing companies within the aerospace and defence industries. As well as to offer additional value-added solutions, such as assembly and subcontracted surface finishes.
AS9100 shows our commitment to continuous improvement within the industry and the milestone will support plans for future growth in the aerospace, defence and medical sectors.
Operations Manager, Robert Carter said: "Acquiring the certification to the AS9100 standard, to which suppliers in the aerospace sector are measured, is a reflection of the continuous improvement efforts and commitments made by our employees to deliver the highest quality machined components to our customers.
"We are proud to now hold this accreditation and it shows our dedication to realise the highest possible quality standards, something that everyone within KMF has had a part to play in achieving."
Many aerospace manufacturers and suppliers will work only with certified partners and so, the AS9100 standard certifies KMF's position within the market.
The addition of AS9100 certification complements the IS09001-2015 accreditation that KMF Precision Engineering already possesses, highlighting the business' focus on supporting the stringent requirements of the aerospace, aviation, defence and medical industries.
Robert continued: "It has been a company ambition for a while and although there has been some significant change for our employees, I have been really impressed by how they have adapted and embraced the challenge of moving the company forward.
