KMF duo smashes charity target
Two members of the KMF team took on the challenge set by a local charity to at least double their money on a £50 start off kitty.
Staffordshire based charity, the Donna Louise Trust, provides a range of specialist care and support services for children with a shortened life expectancy and their families.
With annual running costs in the region of £2.5 million, the hospice used the enterprise challenge as a way of raising funds to assist with this burden.
Keith Nicholl, KMF's Business Improvement Manager and Phil Heath, one of KMF's Programming Engineers, teamed up to raise money for this worthy cause.
The pair soon found some common ground which was the inspiration behind their enterprise; their love for VW campervans and beer!
The duo designed a VW themed bottle opener, which would be the pride possession of any 'die-hard' VW fan.
With this in mind, the canny pair united with a national VW van club which has a significant on-line presence and the camper bottle openers were sold very quickly to club members happy to support this great cause.
The £50 kitty donated by the Trust to get started soon doubled, and a return of £350 was eventually made.
