CNC laser cutting services

Precision laser cutting operations at KMF Precision Sheet Metal cut sheet metal with a high degree of consistency and precision.

The laser metal cutting department at KMF boasts Trumpf TruLaser machines that offer high versatility and run lights out, 24-hours-per-day, seven-days-a-week to deliver an array of sheet metal components and assemblies for various industries.

Our C02 and Fiber Trumpf laser machines cut materials with a repetitive accuracy of 0.02mm, including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium in sheet sizes up to 3000 x 1500mm.

KMF Group also operates Trumatic 6000 and 7000 combination laser/punch presses for added flexibility in laser cutting operations. These innovative combination machines give KMF the ability to manufacture components that require both precision laser cutting and metal punching in a single process.

High-level laser cutting machine dynamics and the latest programming software give KMF the capacity to produce any number of metal components most cost-effectively and efficiently.

Laser metal cutting machines

To complement the use of the combination machine KMF has installed a Stopa material tower which can hold 168 tonnes of 3000 x 1500 sheets. The system boasts the fully automatic loading, unloading, sorting and scrap removal for KMF's fully automated CNC punching cells. It enables KMF to provide laser cut components quickly, efficiently and cleanly.

Metal laser cutting services

Industrial metal laser cutting machines at KMF are capable of creating very complex shapes from flat sheet metal quickly, efficiently, cost-effectively and to a very high standard. Outstanding laser cutting speeds and automated material handling results in short lead times and very competitive pricing. KMF offers a range of cutting and etching services for aluminium, steel, copper and other materials from thin and thick flat and formed sheet plate. We cater to small and high volume batch profiling.

Laser cutting advantages

In metal laser cutting, high-powered light beams are reflected and focussed through a finely tuned laser head that cuts through the material to very high tolerances. CNC laser cutting not only results in a fast, efficient operation but also leaves crisp edges and a high-quality surface finish that requires less cleaning. Laser cutting is used to create components for many industries such as automotive, food processing, aerospace and electronics.
