What is an apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to start a career. As well as continuing education and gaining technical qualifications, they develop employability and personal skills.
An apprenticeship at KMF Precision Sheet Metal is made up of both practical and theory elements and the primary incentive for many who choose this option is that apprentices earn as they learn.)
KMF is passionate about apprenticeships. Our apprentices are the future of our business, and as such, we provide the very best training through our in-house Apprenticeship Programme; which is recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service as world-class.
The KMF Apprenticeship Programme is approved EAL Ltd (Excellence, Achievement & Learning), the awarding body for the industry, and has won numerous awards for outstanding achievement.
Time spent in the commercial and production elements of the business is written into each apprentice's training programme from the beginning of their employment. Spending three months in each department, trainees gain an extremely broad yet detailed set of manufacturing skills. Click here to download a complete list of the qualifications offered.
Apprentices at KMF now score significantly higher than the national average. We teach in classes of up to eight, with in-house lecturers having time to address any problems that may arise. Being on-site throughout their KMF apprenticeship also allows a greater involvement with the wider aspects of the business.
During the programme, apprentices also undertake an annual community challenge where they are asked to carry out a minimum of 50 hours community service. This can include a broad range of community projects, from constructing a water feature for a local school to entertaining young carers on well-deserved breaks.
