KMF is delighted to be sponsoring the Sheet Metal Technology discipline at The Skills Show 2014, held at Birmingham's NEC.

The event runs from the 13th to the 15th of November 2014 and provides young people with the chance to see inside industry, with the best of the UK's apprentices on demonstrating their work.

There are 'have a go' demonstration sessions and endless information on career paths to inspire young people and get them excited about the world of work.

KMF believes in supporting future generations and broadening their mindset to explore new possibilities. The company supports local schools and is proud to sponsor the Show.

Encouraged to maximise opportunities, that make a significant difference to their overall learning experience, KMF apprentices will be competing within the Sheet Metal Technology discipline.

They follow in the footsteps of Higher Apprentice Matt Page, who has first-hand experience of competing on the public stage, after representing the UK at the 2013 WorldSkills Show in Leipzig.

Matt now forms part of the UK team as a squad mentor and is judging at this year's Show.

On Thursday the 13th, KMF will host an 'Apprentice Corner' to talk to other business about the benefits of engaging with young people and demonstrate how they run their Young Engineer of the Year project.

Now in its third year, the project has proved a successful model for engaging students, developing skills and promoting apprenticeships and engineering to our future workforce.

On Saturday the 15th of November, apprentices taking part in the Brathay Challenge will be running a 'have a go' session where members of the public can engage in a fun activity that demonstrates how exciting engineering can be.

The Skills Show is the nation's largest skills and careers event which attracts over 75,000 visitors. It showcases the vast variety of skills we have in the UK, providing young people with the resource to make informed decisions about their future careers.

KMF will continue to support the Skills Show and for more information on careers at KMF please visit the Careers Page or contact Suzy Ball on 01782 569060.
