In June 2018, subcontract sheet metal manufacturer KMF announced that it had been awarded the updated AS9100 Rev D Accreditation standard after undergoing an independent audit of its Quality Management System.
AS9100 is the internationally recognised Quality Management System for the aerospace industry operated by the International Aerospace Quality Group. Standards cover quality assurance in design, development, production, installation, and servicing; the maintenance, repair and overhaul of parts; the stockholding and distribution of aerospace /defence parts.
Gary Sutton, Quality Manager at KMF Precision Sheet Metal, commented: "In June 2018, KMF took the step of being audited to the new Rev D standard, which included days of audits across the whole manufacturing facility encompassing design, manufacturing, purchasing and sales."
"Following a demanding audit schedule, we are pleased to announce that KMF Precision Sheet Metal is fully approved to AS9100 Rev D, continuing our commitment to high quality and continuous improvement".
AS9100 Accredited Metal Fabrication
KMF first achieved the previous revision of the AS9100 standard in 2013, to complement investment in a dedicated 'Advanced Solutions Unit', which serves customers in aerospace, defence and other safety critical industries.
Sharing the state-of-the-art cutting and profiling equipment with the company's main metal fabrication site, Advanced Solutions adds tight process control and full product traceability to meet the needs of demanding sectors and those requiring specialised electrical integration.
Four ISO Accreditations
In addition to AS9100, KMF Group also maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Accreditation, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety System.
